Conservatives Gain Ground on College Campuses
| ARLINGTON, VA - Conservative students are changing the political climate on college campuses across the nation. The Leadership Institute’s Campus Leadership Program helped support or establish 1,034 independent, conservative student groups and newspapers on college campuses. Activism Training Shapes Coverage of Gun Ban Decision
| WASHINGTON, DC - If a picture is worth a thousand words, then youth activists trained by the Leadership Institute in Arlington, Virginia, overwhelmingly transformed the tone of media coverage of the Supreme Court decision overturning the Washington, DC gun ban.
Fewer than 15 students - participants in the Leadership Institute's Campus Leadership Program - prepared hand-drawn signs with pro-gun-rights messages and rallied in front of the Supreme Court Thursday, June 26. To their surprise, they comprised nearly all of the pro-gun-rights demonstrators. Yet, members of the small group appeared on the front pages of newspapers across the country. They held signs that read, "If Guns Kill People, Do Pens Misspell Words?" and "The Second Amendment: My Gun Permit."

Louisiana Senator Vitter Trains Leadership Institute Students
| BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA - Senator David Vitter of Louisiana made a special appearance at a Leadership Institute school in Baton Rogue on June 6. Senator Vitter encouraged a group of 25 conservative Louisiana State University undergrads and home-schooled high school students to become involved in the public policy process.
